The BBB has received numerous calls from consumers on the iHeater infrared heater unit that claims to cut heating bills in half.
An advertorial for the infrared heater product appeared in the Charleston Gazette and Daily Mail on February 7, 2013, is posted by Top Ten Imports based in Indianapolis. The company is advertising a product called the iHeater Mini, which is a portable wall-mounted infrared heating unit that plugs into any wall outlet. The ad claims users can buy the heating unit for up to 50 percent less than the cost of competitive heater products. It also states the unit will save up to 50 percent on heating bills and heats a 500 square-foot area for pennies a day.
The BBB has challenged the company on the truthfulness of these claims and has asked for substantiation. The company has responded to some complaints filed with the BBB in Indianapolis. The BBB urges consumers to view the full

- If you are unable to resolve an issue regarding the sales pitch, contract or device, file a complaint with the BBB.
- The easiest way to save money on home heating doesn't cost a cent: Turn down the thermostat a few degrees and turn off your appliances, lights and other devices when they are not in use.
